WHO Every once in a while, local legends Dino & Terry just have to dust off the decks and get back to disco. The garage heroes have been lying low over the last few years since they started their families, but they’ve never lost touch with the magic of the music — their funky, deep grooves remain long-time favourites. From their warehouse parties called Kola (featuring Ted Clarke) to playing much-reminisced-about nights with Frankie Knuckles and Louie Vega, Dino & Terry's take on house and garage has greatly impacted years of partiers, promoters and producers. The twin brothers started DJing in the mid-'80s in time to guest DJ at the legendary Twilight Zone before it closed. In 1993, they hosted one of the first shows on Energy 108 (now Hamilton rock station Y108), and started producing records as well as launching their Crash label. Over the years, they built a loyal following and joined the DJ elite at Ministry of Sound and the Rex Club in Paris. While they're not as active today, their selection and spinning stand the test of time. I spoke with Dino via email.
