In this fast-paced, rollicking story of impotent rebellion and one youth’s disastrous run-in with the Karmic gods, UK comedian Jimmy Hogg takes on material worthy of the great Stephen Hawkins himself: the chaotic, morally ambiguous quagmire of a drug-addled adolescent mind. Poised on the precipice of death, with his car in mid-roll, our protagonist experiences a series of self-examining flashbacks, often to hilarious effect. The monologue is somewhat clichéd and flat in spots, but Hogg’s professionally poised performance and hysterically funny ad-libbed audience interactions still deliver more than a few good belly laughs. Altogether, this show is Fringe comedy gold.

Highly recommended
Brit Jimmy Hogg has an elastic face and an utterly charming manner, which he uses to great advantage in this "autobigraphical" romp.

hysterical?
Has the Eye reviewer ever seen any comedy? Has she seen Chris Gibb for example who has an hysetrically funny and clever show. I never laughed once at Jimmy Hogg's rather thin offering. He thought himself hilarious though which was also problematical. I am surprised the audience went for this unfunny and weak script...and a performance that was full of itself for no apparent reason. Go see Chris Gibbs ...you'll see what funny is...believe me.

Very funny. I really liked his show, although he did have a bad night and kept forgetting his lines. I'm sure it was just that one night.

While not as consistently funny as last year's Curriculum Vitae, I still found the story of Petty Crime very engaging, thanks to Hogg's charisma and diversions from the main plot, which can also include some audience interaction. He's certainly worth a recommendation (3.5-4 stars)
