About an Hour is an improv about, well, whatever the audience chooses. The cast used one suggestion and created a lively one-act comedy that was focused enough to be a rehearsed play. The four brilliant comedians cracked a range of over-used jokes about booze, sex and Betty White that had everyone in hysterics. Most impressive was the chemistry between Jan Caruana and Rob Baker. In fact, these two Bad Dog veterans made this should-be-cliché bit a standout. The show never goes above and beyond, it often comes across strangely similar to every other improv sketch, and the jokes are regurgitated, but you just don’t give a damn because you’re busy keeling over, laughing to the point that your stomach hurts.

I guess I saw it on a somewhat off night (Thursday). The suggestion was About a hang-gliding. Jan was great as always. I found the guys were just standing in place talking and not working with their environments much. There was some funny stuff and I loved the gag of the mayor being in the car and his voice muffled any time the doors were shut. As I say though – over all, an off night.

Great Improv
I have been burned a few times by unfunny improv but was convinced to try this show. It was entertaining from start to finish. It changes every night but I would say its a pretty good bet.

These guys are great. The show was entertaining and funny, though I expected more "dirty" jokes on the night I went to see it, (the contact lense night).

Great Stuff!
Improv is always a risk. Even the best groups have off nights. But, with the strong cast of About An Hour, you have about the safest bet possible that there's going to be a lot of laughs. These are some of the finest improvisors the city has to offer. Check them out! You'll be glad you did!

enjoy
I very much liked the show...granted it is different each night. I thought the audience suggestion they got provided a nice jump off point and the layering of characters was both charming and interesting. The actors are well suited and very telented... I only have good things to say. If you want to see something entertaining this is a good bet...
