Having wowed Toronto Fringe goers with their past work DOGS! The Musical and Science Fair, Players Players’ latest effort doesn’t quite reach their previous mark. At times witty, and always weird, this multimedia sketch show is only loosely based on the title theme and needs polish to improve on the pacing issues that hamper the impact of the performance. Featuring a collection of skits, songs and videos, the show’s easygoing nature and quirky humour match well with the relaxed atmosphere of the Supermarket’s back room. Good for a few laughs, but it leaves one expecting, rather than wanting, more.

Last year’s Science Fair shone with the chemistry and quirky antics of a cast of 5. This year’s Players Players, reduced to three, don’t pull it off. Funny in parts, but overall stuck in high school.

Totally agree
Moments are really funny but overall the show cannot sustain the joke for the full hour.
