Founded in 1968 as Canada's first alternative theatre company, Theatre Passe Muraille has persevered in the face of multiple financial crises that threatened to close its doors permanently.
Having been purchased by the City of Toronto in 2007 and relieved of its $500,000 debt, new Artistic Director Andy McKim was hired to upkeep the theatre's mission to support emerging local artists.
